MIRACLE ON MAIN STREET
Main Street Amherst volunteers present Miracle on Main Street, a Christmas
Pageant and Parade.
Be there when the first ever Amherst Christmas Queen is crowned! The pageant is open to all young ladies that are residents of Amherst. The Amherst Christmas Court will include princesses in the following age groups: 5-7 year olds, 8-10 year olds and 11-14 year olds. The Amherst Christmas Queen contestants must be between 15 and 18 years old.
To enter, each contestant must write a one to two page essay on "Why is Amherst a great place to grow up?" Essay contest runs from Friday, September 29 to Wednesday, October 18. After the essays are judged, the top three contestants from each age group will become the princesses of the Amherst Christmas Court. The Christmas Court will walk in the Miracle on Main Street Parade. Each of the princesses will receive a certificate of participation from Main Street Amherst. The Amherst Christmas Court and the three Queen contestants will be notified by mail on or before October 31.
Storybook Studios will photograph the final three Queen contestants.
Contestants' photos will be revealed and the final voting will kick off at
the downtown Amherst Open House, Sunday, November 5. Their photos will be posted in the following downtown businesses for voting by the general public.
