ATHLETIC EVENT SMOKING POLICY
Full Description:
Due to recently passed Ohio laws, all Amherst school buildings are required to be smoke-free especially during all athletic contests and school events, where no one will be allowed smoke in or near a school building.
Students or anyone of legal age who need to smoke during an event, would be required to do the following:
(1) have their hand stamped before leaving the building to allow re-entry to the event; and
(2) smoke inside the car with the windows rolled up. Ohio law now states that no person shall smoke in a place in which smoke can enter a public school building (near doorways, windows, air in-takes, etc.).
